Transparency Policy
Updated at May 1st, 2023
The Israeli Association for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to upholding the highest standards of transparency as part of its mission to foster the ethical development and use of AI. This transparency extends to our operational activities, our research, our funding, and our collaborations. As an organization deeply rooted in ethical principles, we understand the importance of open communication and public accountability.

  1. Operational Transparency: We make every effort to ensure that our members, stakeholders, and the public are well-informed about our activities, decisions, and processes. We regularly publish updates and reports to keep our community informed.
  2. Research Transparency: We believe that openness in research is crucial for ethical AI. Thus, we strive to make our research methodologies, data, and findings openly accessible. We encourage our researchers to adhere to open science practices.
  3. Funding Transparency: The IAEAI is currently fully funded by managing partners of VentureIsrael, a leading Israeli deep tech VC. We do not receive any funding from, and are not linked to any government entities or corporations. When individual research projects receive co-funding from a different stakeholders, these will be fully disclosed to both members of the Scientific Council and the public audience.
  4. Collaboration Transparency: Our partnerships and collaborations are based on shared goals and mutual respect. We openly acknowledge these collaborations and the contributions made by our partners.
  5. Data Transparency: We champion responsible use, storage, and management of data. Any data collected for research or operational purposes will be handled transparently, respecting privacy rights and data protection laws.
  6. Commitment to Ethical AI Research: Our commitment to promoting ethical AI is unwavering and independent of any external influence. The purpose of our research is to advance understanding of AI Ethics, not to promote any particular product or service.
  7. Partner Engagement Transparency: As an Israeli organization, we reserve the right to abstain from collaborating with organizations that deny Israel's right to exist, call for a boycott of Israel, or engage in activities violating Israeli law. We believe in respect for national sovereignty and legality, and as such, we adhere strictly to these principles in choosing our partners and collaborators.
  8. Continuous Review: We review this transparency policy regularly and make updates to reflect evolving practices and stakeholder expectations.
In all our activities, we adhere to the principles of honesty, accountability, and openness. We believe that this commitment to transparency is essential to building trust, fostering collaboration, and advancing the ethical use of AI.
